This forum is provided for exchange and interaction among disciples of Jesus Christ; it is a web-based assembly. There are no congregational or denominational divisions; no prerequisite of doctrine or creed; nor are titles allowed (such as Pastor, Rev., Dr., etc.). The only requirement is the desire to learn from and follow Jesus Christ, to share his treasures, and help each other grow.
Considerations
We are advocates of assertive communication in which we encourage one another to assert beliefs, opinions and ideas, in a manner always respectful of others. Although we may disagree with the thoughts and beliefs of others, we respect their right to hold those beliefs. Above all, we remain mindful that we come together for the purpose of learning and sharing, all in the spirit of love; the purpose is not to persuade others, but simply to lovingly share the experiences of our journey and growth.
Aggressive communication is strictly prohibited. In this type of communication, one resorts to language of harassment and intimidation to demean or offend others, often for the purpose of dominating the discussion. Even at the times when one must be critical, one can do so without being offensive. The participant who resorts to offensive communication is more interested in serving self than building a learning environment. We reserve the right to edit or otherwise restrict forum communications for the purpose of maintaining a quality that permits open, meaningful discussions.
Not everyone will agree with the ideas or interpretations presented. We must strive to accept criticism and disagreement without being defensive. There are perhaps some points that Christ himself will have to plainly resolve before there is general agreement. Yet, for the most part, as we grow spiritually, we will also grow in our understanding and in the conviction and security of our beliefs.
It is our prayer that those who enter this forum do so in a spirit of learning, sharing and love.
